Joe Bricky Media Relocates To Branson Missouri!
Hey everyone. Joe Bricky here. Many people have asked me why I moved to Branson Missouri after 6 years in Sunny Nevada and it’s a bit of a long story, but I’ll try to keep it to an easy read. Back in 2012, my wife was having serious issues with the pesticides in Central California so we looked for a climate that was away from crops. Unfortunately, just moving out of the valley wasn’t enough because the particulates made it all the way to the top of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. So, we moved to Minden Nevada and it helped her a lot. We bought a house East of Carson City a year and a half later with a great view. It was more of a desert climate but brown most of the year when it wasn’t white.
We discovered Virginia City and became part of the town and even got an apartment there so we could volunteer as docents for the community. Docents dress up in the historical clothing of the heydey of Virginia City and help town visitors experience the atmosphere of the town. It involved taking pictures with people and just playing a character of the old west. It was a great time.
But, after six years in the desert, I really missed the green, and both myself and Serita have a sense of adventure. When the Virginia City lifestyle became a little too much for us, and the desert wind really started bothering me, we began looking at other places as more of a what if situation. Many people think wouldn’t it be great. But, we are more of the pull the trigger kinda folks, and a friend mentioned Branson as a place we should check out.
So, I jumped on Zillow and perused the available houses. We were living in a 2700sf. nice ranch house on the edge of BLM land in Dayton NV, and it appreciated quite a bit over the last four years. So, what I discovered was our ranch house was nearly a swap for a much bigger house in Branson if we could find the right one. And, in October, we came out and looked around. After just a few days, we made an offer on a house that I never expected the owner to accept… but he did. And, the decision was made.
As for Branson, it’s a wonderful place. They call Missouri one of the flyover states, but I assure you it’s anything but that. Branson is located in the Ozark Mountains, and is home to some amazing fishing and golfing. Best of all, Branson is the crown jewel of the Ozarks. There are somewhere between 7 and 9 million tourists who visit each year and there are so many restaurants and attractions to see beyond what Branson is famous for, which is the live entertainment. And, Silver Dollar City is an amazing Old West themed amusement park that draws millions of visitors a year. The whole area is just fantastic and so much fun. As of now, we haven’t even touched all the fun things to do here and we’re super excited about the coming season.
Since my business and my team are located all over the country and in other parts of the world, moving to Central US keeps me able to hit both coasts now with about the same flight time. I can’t drive down to LA or San Diego now, but I can drive to New Orleans and Houston, so it’s working out well.
I’m really looking forward to meeting more people and businesses here in Branson and we are both very happy to be here. We really love it.
